News and Announcements
You have now until end of February to raise funds so that you don’t have to use out of pocket funds for required fundraising and to maximize Coyote Credit for Coyote gear or the varsity Spring Break trip. Get going on your Safeway/King Soopers cards, Scrip, and Old Chicago coupons. Contact Russ Riecken at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to purchase anything. If you want to purchase physical gift cards through Scrip let send email to Russ Riecken, we will be putting in order at the parent meeting so we can have cards by Christmas for stocking stuffers. If you need info on fundraising check out the Fundraising on the web site to understand the basics or check your Coyote Credit balance.
Quick reminder we can’t wait to see you Wednesday and Thursday for open throw.
Meet both days first in the weight room. Also, the next few weeks will be evaluations for fall ball so don’t miss.
I am very sorry for this late change, but with the weather outlook so good this coming week we are moving open throw to 6:30-8:30 on the turf for this coming Wednesday and Thursday. With the season approaching fast opportunities we want to maximize our efforts to be GREAT. Parents, please note we will do this weekly and let you know Friday of the week before to let you know. If the weather looks good we will move open throw up all the time like this letting you know the week before. This way we can really work on lax in a field environment. We told the players yesterday and they were ALL IN. The gym is a great alternative but when these opportunities arise we need to JUMP on them. We are proud of our communication and consistency but sometimes adjustments need to be made. As far as the first week, PLAYERS GREAT START. We are working hard to achieve an outstanding season with lofty goals. Continue to make every opportunity in this off season. Before you know it the regular season will be upon us. Turnout has been good, but could still be better. It was great to see some new players to the game! The best part was seeing some experienced players helping them out, this is what make lax a special brotherhood. Lastly, make sure you have gotten your physicals done or scheduled. You can’t miss the first day due to something like this. It is a privilege to be the head coach of such a wonderful community and program.Lastly, lax is not a two day a week thing in the off season. Run, sprint, lift, stickwork, agility, make it all happen.
“Players are made in the off season.”
We are excited to see you at strength and conditioning this Wednesday and Thursday. The next four weeks are going to be great. Remember we start at 5:45 and go to 7:00 starting this Wednesday the 25th. We will have eight sessions and go till the 16th the last week before Thanksgiving. This is our chance to come together before the holiday season. Please bring a check for $75.00 made out to Monarch High School. Additionally, if finances are tight please e mail email@example.com in confidence for a full scholarship.
First of all, I am so proud of our fall training. Those of you that have been coming to open throw have done a great job! Additionally, both teams playing in the DLC have done some really good things. JV plays Saturday TBA and the varsity lost a heart breaker to Mountain Vista in double OT. JV will continue to have practice this Wednesday and Thursday. That being said if any of the varsity wants to come out and lend a hand you are welcome.
I would like to acknowledge the players that put in hard work this fall for our upper level team. Sorry if we missed on the spelling:
We had big wins over Wheat Ridge, Aprapahoe, and Castleview. That being said this is the perfect segway to our next topic. We lost by 3 goals COMBINED to Creek, Valor, and Mountain Vista. This year with the toughest schedule we have ever had the margin between winning and losing will be small. We need to have the SLIGHT EDGE (a great book coming to our book study group, our first) Players can either choose to get better or not. It is easy to either go to the gym, wall, field, or to not go. Players that do put so put money in their imaginary back account. Once these habits are developed compound interest accrues. Basically, the players that DECIDE to put in the extra work become special and those that do not stay the same. What are you going to do? 2 things need to happen for this team. One coming together and building a hard work culture, this continues by pushing our team mates in the weight room. We still need to have a better team chemistry and the more time together the better. Secondly, BIGGER STRONGER FASTER!
As stated on the website since August Stage 2 of fall ball begins on October 25th. Every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:45-7:00 we will be running our strength and conditioning program at Monarch High. These dates are October 25,26, November 1,2,8,9,15,16. We are asking for 8 days to continue gaining the slight edge.
What will we be doing:
-Weight training about 45 minutes on both days, players will be asked to get in a 3rd day on their own.
-Speed and agility work: Whether we are working with medicine balls, sleds(weather permitting)battle ropes, plyos, and agilities, ladders, it will be a comprehensive program.
-Core Strength Training: ABS and Core will be targeted.
You are not going to get these things by training by yourself at the rec center. We promise a hard working, high energy program.
Cost of program: $75.00 Just show up with a check made out to Monarch High School. We know that players that invest a little big of funds will make big gains. Coach Auday and LaHoda will be there to instruct and push our team.
See you in one week on October 25th. In confidence, if any family has ANY FINANCIAL ISSUES all they have to do is contact firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be FREE. This will be kept in confidence of course.
