message from Coach Auday
First of all, I am so proud of our fall training. Those of you that have been coming to open throw have done a great job! Additionally, both teams playing in the DLC have done some really good things. JV plays Saturday TBA and the varsity lost a heart breaker to Mountain Vista in double OT. JV will continue to have practice this Wednesday and Thursday. That being said if any of the varsity wants to come out and lend a hand you are welcome.
I would like to acknowledge the players that put in hard work this fall for our upper level team. Sorry if we missed on the spelling:
We had big wins over Wheat Ridge, Aprapahoe, and Castleview. That being said this is the perfect segway to our next topic. We lost by 3 goals COMBINED to Creek, Valor, and Mountain Vista. This year with the toughest schedule we have ever had the margin between winning and losing will be small. We need to have the SLIGHT EDGE (a great book coming to our book study group, our first) Players can either choose to get better or not. It is easy to either go to the gym, wall, field, or to not go. Players that do put so put money in their imaginary back account. Once these habits are developed compound interest accrues. Basically, the players that DECIDE to put in the extra work become special and those that do not stay the same. What are you going to do? 2 things need to happen for this team. One coming together and building a hard work culture, this continues by pushing our team mates in the weight room. We still need to have a better team chemistry and the more time together the better. Secondly, BIGGER STRONGER FASTER!
As stated on the website since August Stage 2 of fall ball begins on October 25th. Every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:45-7:00 we will be running our strength and conditioning program at Monarch High. These dates are October 25,26, November 1,2,8,9,15,16. We are asking for 8 days to continue gaining the slight edge.
What will we be doing:
-Weight training about 45 minutes on both days, players will be asked to get in a 3rd day on their own.
-Speed and agility work: Whether we are working with medicine balls, sleds(weather permitting)battle ropes, plyos, and agilities, ladders, it will be a comprehensive program.
-Core Strength Training: ABS and Core will be targeted.
You are not going to get these things by training by yourself at the rec center. We promise a hard working, high energy program.
Cost of program: $75.00 Just show up with a check made out to Monarch High School. We know that players that invest a little big of funds will make big gains. Coach Auday and LaHoda will be there to instruct and push our team.
